Unknown malicious actors have taken several million bucks worth of crypto from Solana users in the last few days.
Wallets continue to be emptied, albeit at a lesser pace, for the time being. Thousands of wallets drained so far
Solana's security team narrowed it down to a single suspect during their investigation.
Even though the hack targeted Solana users, bitcoin appears that the third-party wallet provider, Slope, is to blame — rather than Solana itself.
According to Solana, the problem appears to affect Slope's hot wallets, who also verified that no hardware wallet had been attacked.
It is recommended that almost all Slope users produce a new seed word, regardless of the wallet they previously used.
